Trypanosoma brucei infected rabbits - serum fibrinogen levels post infection suggesting the formation of microthrombi in the circulation contributing to the pathogenesis of this disease. see Boreham PFL in Biochemistry and Physiology of of Protozoa 1979. 2nd ed. vol 2 Acad Press; Boreham and Facer 1974. IJP 4:143-151 and many other papers -see Boreham 1988 DSc. Peter Boreham studied the pathogenesis of trypanosomiasis extensively in 1960s and 1970s in Africa.
